New Microtubes 500 bass amp and bass cabinet models from Darkglass

The Microtubes 500 is a more affordable and compact version of Darkglass’s Microtubes 900 model.

ADG has announced three brand new products from Darkglass Electronics, including the new Microtubes 500 bass amplifier, and two new bass cabinets.

First up, the Microtubes 500 brings the same tone, flexibility, design as its original Microtubes 900 model in a more compact and lighter format.

The Microtubes 500 is a more affordable option for bass players that don’t require the sheer power the Microtubes 900 offers.

Main features include:
– Dual Microtubes Engine: powered by B3K and VMT
– Clean, B3K and VMT channels can be selected from front panel or by optional footswitch
– Gain and Master controls for the Clean channel
– 4 Band Active Equalizer
– Two-way Mid Frequency switches for Lo and Hi Mid controls
– XLR Direct Output (pre/post preamp, but unaffected by Master Volume)
– Effects Loop (unaffected by master volume)
– Headphone Output for silent practice (6.35mm)
– Speakon/Combo-Jack speaker connections
– 500W RMS 4Ω (min load)

Expected in early October 2017, the Microtubes 500 will have a UK RRP of £749.

Darkglass has also unveiled two new bass cabinet models.

“Cabinets are probably the most underrated link in a musician’s signal chain. Players obsess relentlessly about instruments, pedals and amplifiers, not realising that without speakers, all of these elements merely generate or process electric signals,” explained the firm.?”Music though is heard and felt, not just measured. It is made of sound and speakers are what transform electric signals into that sound.”

Building on this focus, Darkglass has decided to address what it calls the most essential part of the signal chain by introducing the new DG-210C and DG-410C bass cabinets.

Main features include:
– Custom 10” Eminence ceramic speakers, with Ferrite Magnet HF Horn
– Dual Parallel Speakon Combo Connectors
– Custom Crossover
– HF-Control (L-Pad)
– Baltic Birch construction
– Modern look, with extra high quality ‘tolex’ style finish and removable cloth grill

Both models will be available in early October. The DG-210C will have a UK RRP of £925, while the DG-410C will cost £1,295.

All three products will be available from Audio Distribution Group.
