Berklee Online brings music courses to the UK

The online education division of the world-famous Berklee College of Music is heading to the UK to promote its new courses and qualifications available to musicians this side of the pond.

Berklee Online promises to offer more than "simply a rough online equivalent of brick-and-mortar courses", instead, it utilises state of the art technology to bring "the best of Berklee to students around the world".

Courses are written and taught by Berklee faculty members, and through the integration of audio and video feedback and weekly live chats, online students can build a personal relationship with their instructors and fellow students.

Study areas include music production, guitar, songwriting, film scoring, music theory, music business, and much more.

Berklee College of Music is the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world, and notable alumni include John Mayer, Quincy Jones, Diana Krall, St Vincent, Steve Vai and Mike Portnoy to name but a few.

With Berklee Online’s courses, UK musicians don’t have to travel to Boston to get a notable Berklee degree anymore.

“We’ve had the pleasure of teaching some of the UK’s most prominent musicians and producers, including Fraser T. Smith, who won a Grammy award with Adele,” said senior director of marketing, Jana Jackson.

“Our goal with this UK endeavour is to connect with current and prospective students, as well as potential partners, to help us showcase our online school and how we can positively impact UK musicians’ careers.”
