Berklee Online launches first online master's degree program for music production and business

Since its initial launch in 2002, Berklee College of Music’s Berklee Online has evolved from offering virtual music courses to certificate programs to an undergraduate degree.

15 years later, and the world’s largest online music school teaches over 10,000 students a year.

Now, Berklee Online has taken the next step in its continued growth with the launch of its first master’s degree programs.

This will give students the chance to earn their master’s degree with Berklee Online in the following two areas: Master of Music in Music Production and Master of Arts in Music Business.

“This is a chance for students to spend a year doing everything they love and hone their knowledge and skills to advance their career in the music industry,” said Berklee Vice President of Online Education Carin Nuernberg.

"Students will learn from world-renowned faculty in an interactive, collaborative course environment while forging connections with a network of talented industry professionals from around the globe."

The programs will consist of 12 courses (36 credits) that can be completed within one year. In keeping pace with the same flexibility that Berklee Online is known for, students have the option to start in any semester during the academic year and will get the chance to have direct interactions with Berklee faculty and fellow students through their learning management system.

Part of each program is a culminating experience, which could be developing a marketing plan or creating an EP that is fully completed and ready to distribute.

The program will officially start in September of 2018.
